LiveJournal to support RSS and discovery
Tue, Jun 4, 2002; by Dave Winer.
From Mark Kraft.
Figured that you might like to know... LiveJournal just added support for the feature automatic RSS detection link, so automated discovery of RSS feeds is now enabled for our 582K users and for all LiveJournal communities. It will also spread to the other ~250K users of LJ Server the next time they update, I suspect.
Always love it when we can do things like this -- It's like switching on the lights at a baseball stadium.
BTW, our RSS feeds are back. They had to come down when we added UTF-8 international character support (which allowed us to translate the site into other languages).
Examples:
http://www.livejournal.com/index.bml?uselang=ja and
http://www.livejournal.com/index.bml?uselang=ru
Just add /rss to any LiveJournal journal or community URL to access the RSS feed.
